Teira Zinfandel is a new addition to our carefully curated boutique wine selection.
Teira Zinfandel comes to us from the family owned Woods vineyard in Dry Creek Valley, located in Sonoma County, California. Teira Zinfandel is 94% Zinfandel with 6% Petit Syrah added to create a harmonious, well balanced wine. 72% of the grapes come from the family’s Woods vineyard with 22% coming from Russian River Valley and 6% from Alexander Valley. All three vineyards are sustainably farmed, and were fermented separately prior to master blending. The wine is fermented in stainless steel, then aged in 100% French oak, 25% which is new. Only 1,350 cases were produced for the 2012 vintage.
Teira Zinfandel is a carefully hand crafted wine that exemplifies the terroir in which it is grown. The wine is a deep ruby red in color, with a lovely nose of ripe red fruit, spice and earth. The palate is filled with red raspberry and currant, followed with baking spice, a touch of citrus and herbal notes. The finish is long and pleasant.I truly love this wine, it is rich and well balanced, pairs well with roasted meats, especially a hearty rib eye steak.
