In the spirit of St. Paddy’s day I have chosen Jameson Irish Whiskey for our March spirit. Jameson is the world’s most popular Irish whiskey and for one simple reason, it is delicious. Jameson is made of corn, barley and water. It is triple distilled in copper pot stills, and then aged in three different types of barrells. This process gives Jameson it’s unique flavor.
On the nose I get hints of orange and spice with a slight floral note. On the palate it is warm and inviting, a bit oily with citrus, vanilla and spice. The finish is classic, warm and spicy. Jameson is a timeless classic that has been, and will continue to be enjoyed for centuries.
Jameson Honey Sour
2 Oz Jameson Irish Whiskey
1 Oz Pure Clover Honey
1 Oz Hot Water
2 Oz Fresh Lemon Juice
Take 1 Oz of hot water and 1 Oz of pure clover honey and mix together until completely blended, then chill in freezer for 20 minutes. (This is called honey simple syrup, you can make a larger batch if desired, always equal parts honey and water.) Once the honey simple syrup is chilled you mix it in the tin with all the other ingredients. Then fill the tall glass with ice and cap the mixing tin with it and shake vigorously. Remove the glass and pour the mixture from the tin into the glass and enjoy.
